Simona B. Katcher

Senior Counsel and Assistant Secretary, Visa Inc.

Simona Katcher is Senior Counsel and Assistant Secretary at Visa Inc.  She leads the Corporate Governance team, which focuses on board-related matters, proxy and global legal entity matters, among other areas.  Prior to Visa, Simona was Senior Corporate Counsel and Assistant Secretary at Symantec Corporation where she divided her time between corporate governance and corporate securities matters. In addition to advising the board and management on a range of emerging corporate governance and risk management issues, she was responsible for the Company’s annual meeting matters, corporate governance policies, compensation-related matters and securities filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Before joining Symantec, Simona was Corporate Counsel at Sun Microsystems, Inc., where she supported the board and management, as well as, the tax, treasury, finance, risk management and investor relations departments on a variety of corporate governance and securities matters.

Simona has presented corporate governance topics to the Society for Corporate Governance, National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), ISS Corporate Solutions (ICS), Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), Women’s 100 Conference, General Counsel West Conference and other corporate governance conferences.

A member of the California Bar, Simona earned a juris doctorate along with a Business Law Specialization Certificate with distinction from Golden Gate University School of Law, and a bachelor’s degree in business from Quinnipiac University.

Simona is Chair of the Corporate Legal Professional Network (CLPN) and a member of the Advisory Board of the Society of Corporate Governance Northern California Chapter after serving as the former President.
